Amoeba!

I’ve decided it’s useless to try to come up with a catchy title to describe one of my favorite places – the name alone suffices. So…Amoeba! Man, I love it.

I’ve been a music junkie for a long ways back and Amoeba is where I get my fix. It is a ginormous record store that sells any and every kind of music you can think of (as well as movies). Check it out –
That, my friends, is only a partial view of the interior. Like I said, ginormous! Now, Amoeba sells new and used albums, but I generally stick to the used cause that’s were you get the best deals. A few weeks ago I stopped by and picked up these two CD’s.

The Cut Copy album was $7.99 as opposed to $10.06 on Amazon. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs album was 4.99 as opposed to $11.34 on Amazon. Dang! That was a good deal.

Now, I’m sure some of you are thinking “I don’t buy CD’s any more, I get all my music from ITunes.” Well, I just checked and each album is selling for $9.99. I don’t know about you, but I’d rather pay less and upload the CD to my IPod.

PLUS! Amoeba also buys CD’s. So, in theory, you can just sell it back to them, or on half.com, or at a garage sale…there are several options.

So, I would definitely recommend Amoeba for bargain CD’s as well as an awesome shopping experience. You won’t regret it!
