Celebrating Lunar New Year at Bibigo Beverly Hills

Happy New Year!

Now before you start thinking I’m a bit late to the game I suppose I should clarify. Happy Lunar New Year! On January 31st many people all over the world will be ringing in this special occasion. Recently, I was able to celebrate a little early at a special Seollal Supper at Bibigo, a delicious Korean Restaurant in the heart of Beverly Hills.

The Seollal Supper will be available from January 31st to February 28th and is three courses of pure deliciousness.

It starts with your choice of one of four appetizers: Steamed Bun, Calamari, Fig & Avocado Salad, and Garlic Brussel Sprouts.

To pick which one was my favorite is nearly impossible. I love steamed buns and these were delicious – soft and fluffy and filled with spicy sweet pork and tangy pickles. Oh man, my mouth is watering now. But the salad was also amazing  and the brussel sprouts, oh the brussel sprouts. You already know they’re my weakness. And these particular ones were perfect. Seriously. I had to stop myself from licking the plate clean.

After the apps you get your choice of entree: Grilled Short Rib, Braised Short Rib, or Kimchi Stew.

Again, I’m hard pressed to pick a favorite. The braised short rib was so tender it was falling off the bone. The kimchi stew was so comforting. And the grilled short ribs…man! I loved them so much I took some home to enjoy for lunch the next day.

And,finally, dessert. How could there not be? There are two special items on the menu: Korean Sweet Pancake and Green Tea Shaved Ice.

Both were so yummy and the perfect ending to the meal.

Before this dinner I had never even heard of Bibigo and now I can’t live without it. Really. If I wasn’t already in my pajamas I’d hop in the car and head there now.
