Goings On About Town – It’s Oscar Time

Ok, so waaaaayyyyy back when, I wrote about visiting The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to check out their wonderful free exhibits and inexpensive events. You can read it here. Go ahead, I’ll wait. Well, since it’s Oscar time, I thought I’d let you know that the academy is currently holding symposium with various nominees. I highly recommend attending one of these. I’ve done so it the past and really enjoyed it. If you’re a film buff you’ll really enjoy hearing about them from people directly involved in their production.

My personal recommendation would be the Animated Film Symposium. This year it’s hosted by the awesome Patton Oswalt and will feature the creators of Rango, Kung Fu Panda 2, Puss in Boots and others. Tickets are only $5! How can you lose with that??? But, hurry up, they’re selling out fast!
