Masters of Taste Returns to the Rose Bowl

About a year ago I was lucky enough to attend the inaugural Masters of Taste at the Rose Bowl. Featuring food and drink from some of the top restaurants in Los Angeles it was a delightful way to spend a Sunday afternoon and I indulged in cocktails and canapes to my hearts content. Here’s a peek at some of my favorites –

Well, I’m happy to report it’s returning to the Rose Bowl on Sunday, May 7 from 3-7pm. A couple of weeks ago I attended a preview for the event and it’s sure to be an even bigger hit than last year.

There will be over 25 restaurants participating including Redbird, Magnolia House, Raymond 1886 and the brand new Bone Kettle. I was lucky enough to sample their  oxtail dumplings which are amazing.

I hope they’ll be back at the official event! I’m also looking forward to the bites from Mama Lion and SpireWorks, two more of my preview favorites.

To accompany the food there will be plenty to drink from breweries, wineries and several local bars. I’m especially looking forward to the cocktails from Birds & Bees and 1886 Bar.

And if you’re not alcoholically inclined there will be plenty of options from soda to tea to coffee. I highly recommend the blueberry matcha from Café Dulce.

Speaking of Cafe Dulcé they’ll also be offering their signature donuts alongside several other dessert vendors. So definitely save room!

As wonderful as the food is that’s not the best part of Masters of Taste. The event is actually a fundraiser for Union Station Homeless Services which serves the needy of the San Gabriel Valley. They are actively working to end homelessness through shelters, long term housing and job training and 100% of the proceeds from the event go this worthy cause. Last year they raised over $435,000 and this year they’re hoping to raise even more so be sure to grab your ticket and enjoy an evening of delicious food and drink on the Rose Bowl field.
