The Queen Mary Art Deco Festival

full disclosure: I received media passes to attend. All opinions are my own.

Have you ever wanted to do something for a long time and finally got to do it and when you did it  it was awesome? Well, that’s what happened to me at The Queen Mary Art Deco Festival. I’d wanted to attend since the inaugural event and finally made it to the 10th anniversary festival.

My sister and I dressed up in our finest vintage inspired garb and made our way to the ship for a day of Deco. There were vintage cars and artifacts, a fabulous bazaar, and lots of entertainment. We joined several others on the top deck for the Gatsby Daze picnic.

There was food, drinks, dancing, and entertainment. I couldn’t resist grabbing a Winston Churchill’s Side Car as my afternoon refreshment.

Yum! It almost gave me enough liquid courage to start cutting a rug but I chickened out. Plenty of people did take advantage of the dance floor and had a roaring good time.

Luckily, there was plenty of entertainment provided by the Stain Dollz and Ginger & The Hoosier Daddys.

The entire day was the cat’s meow and the perfect way to say goodbye to summer. I may have waited a long time to go to the Art Deco Festival but it was well worth the wait!

Plus, currently on exhibit at The Queen Mary is Bob Hope: An American Treasure! It was such a treat to see artifacts from one of my favorite entertainers.
