Spotlight on Parachute

Oh man, I love a good night’s sleep. Now, I know most people would agree but isn’t it a rarity nowadays? I know that most of my days consist of me running around like a chicken with its head cut off. By the time I hit the hay I’ve only got a few hours until I need to be up again and my mind just can’t seem to stop thinking about everything that I still need to get done. But lest you think this is just one long rant about my sleep patterns rest assured I do have a point.

Recently, I was sent a sheet set from Parachute, a fabulous bedding company based out of Venice.

Parachute Home

The bedding is designed by Ariel Kaye and is made in Italy by experience linen artisans. This pairing of California design and Italian craftsmanship is not by chance. Ariel, who calls SoCal home, was traveling in Italy and found herself getting an amazing night’s sleep on the most comfortable bed sheets she ever experienced. When she returned home she tried to find a matching set but came up empty (save for ones that were very, very expensive). So, with a batch of moxie she decided to make them herself. And so Parachute was born.

I was able to try out the Venice bundle, a set that consists of a fitted sheet, two pillowcases, and a duvet cover. Now, this makes me very, very happy. You see, I’m anti flat sheet. I don’t like the way they feel and haven’t used one since I was a kid. I’m all about the duvet. It’s the perfect bed covering – warm in winter, cool in summer…perfection. To have a sheet set that skips the dreaded flat and provides me with a matching duvet is music to my ears.

This weekend I outfitted my bed with my new linens and snuggled in for the night. Call it coincidence, call it kismet but I had a great night’s sleep. The sheets are soft and comfy, lightweight and cool. I absolutely love them. And don’t they look so elegant? They make my cheap Ikea bed frame look like it belongs in a catalog.

Parachute can be purchased here. As a bonus, for every Venice bundle sold a malaria net is donated to the charity, Nothing But Nets. Gotta love that.

Such gorgeous looking bedding! I also love that the company donates a net to charity for every purchase of that set. Nice!
