Sunday Brunch at The Den on Sunset

As I’m sitting here writing I’m reminiscing about the delicious brunch I had last Sunday at The Den on Sunset. I don’t often brunch because, frankly, I’m too lazy on Sunday to get out of the house. But last week I was invited to try out the new brunch at The Den on Sunset and, after perusing the menu, I couldn’t pass it up.

One of my favorite aspects of brunch is day drinking! It’s the daytime meal where a bevvy of alcoholic treats are not only available but encouraged. At The Den on Sunset you can get a pitcher of sangria, a host of mimosas or the Slender Pike. Made with gin, lemon and proseco I knew it was the drink for me.

A fizzy sweet tart of a drink it was the perfect way to start my meal. As I perused the menu I had a hard time deciding on what to eat. Should I have Fried Chicken and Waffles? Den Racheros? The Benny Burger? I asked my helpful server what she recommended and she suggested the Steak & Egg Hash made with flat iron steak, two varieties of potatoes, poached eggs, grilled onions and pesto. I took her recommendation and ordered it.

Oh man, I’m so glad I did. Tender steak, perfectly roasted potatoes, a deliciously runny egg and a generous serving of pesto made for a delicious combination. Right now I’m wishing I had it in front of me (and I’m not even hungry!).

As filling as the dish was I couldn’t help but order one additional item – Prosciutto & Cheddar Doughnuts.

Oven baked and topped with powdered sugar and maple syrup they were fantastic. Who’d have thought that combining a savory doughnut with a sweet topping would make for such a delicious combination?

The Den on Sunset was a delightful surprise. Thanks to their brunch my Sundays may no longer be so lazy.
