Visiting Snoopy and Sift Dessert Bar

disclosure: Discounts and comps were received throughout the Sonoma Valley road trip. All opinions are my own.

There is SO much to do in Sonoma county. So, so much that it was hard to fit everything in. In fact, a couple places almost didn’t make the cut but I was so determined to visit them that we somehow made it happen.

Schulz Museum

Charlie Brown! I’ve loved the Peanuts ever since I was a little girl and I have a soft spot for the ole blockhead. In the heart of Santa Rosa is the Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center. This institution is dedicated to the life and work of the Peanuts creator.

Inside you’ll find one of a kind exhibits like Mr. Schulz’s actual office. At that very desk he created the wonderful world of the Peanuts. My favorite piece is the wall he painted for his kids’ nursery. Check out Charlie Brown…and Snoopy…and that crazy rabbit!

Of course, there’s a large focus on the Peanuts comic strip.

I loved learning about the evolution of this famous strip. Did you know they started out as single panel comic called Li’l Folks?

That pup looks awfully familiar.

The Charles M. Schulz Museum is a fun and fascinating place that will be sure to put a smile on your face. I know I left in a good mood.

Another spot I had to try was Sift Dessert Bar, a colorful bakery with locations scattered throughout Sonoma County and the surrounding area. Our days were so packed I almost didn’t make it but, luckily, I was able to stop by their San Francisco location on the way home.

Wow! Just about every dessert can be found at Sift. Cupcakes, macrons, brownies, cookies…you name it they’ve probably got it.

With a long journey ahead of us we had to stock up. Here’s a sampling of what we picked.

Look at all that goodness. My favorite were the macrons – blackberry lavender, earl grey, and pumpkin bourbon all made for delicious flavors. They made the long ride down Highway 101 much more enjoyable. Hopefully Sift Dessert Bar will expand to SoCal so I can have them again soon!
