Wine Tasting at Venokado

Did you know that on the rooftop of Santa Monica Place is an awesome wine shop called Venokado? Nestled in a corner of The Market you’ll find a hand picked selection of wines, a variety of cute gifts, and a small bar perfect for a quick tasting.

The tastings change daily and on my visit a trio of German wines were available.

I have little knowledge of German wines but from what I tasted they’re something special. Often when wine tasting there’s a glass or two that I won’t even finish. Not this time. I finished every one down to the last drop and even grabbed a bottle to take home.

And thank goodness for the tasting! There’s so many varieties to choose from that I wouldn’t have even know where to start.

See what I mean? The wines are arranged from red to rose to white and then by region. I found quite a few that I would have picked for the label alone.

Man, those wineries sure are getting creative, aren’t they?

Another thing that Venokado is known for is their Clutch Gifts. In these you’ll find a bottle of wine with some carefully selected gift items. Perfect for the time when you need a quick gift or have no idea what to get someone.

I would love to receive one of these. But while I wait for someone to buy one for me I think I’ll just sit here on the patio and drink some wonderful German wine.
