Spending the Day at Echo Park Lake

In my travels to Echo Park I’ve watched its namesake lake evolve. First there were lotuses. Then they died off and the lake started to look pretty crappy. Then it was drained so it could be rehabilitated. And now?

Well, now it’s just beautiful.

This past weekend I joined one of my favorite organizations, deLab on a tour of the lake. The tour was guided by Jim Rasmus and Josh Segel the lead engineer and landscape architect from the rehabilitation project. They gave us insight into the before and after status of the lake. A lot of work was done and I think it was a huge success. But rather than bore you to tears with the technicals I’m just going to give a photo heavy post. See the pretty shots and enjoy!
