Haus des Guten Essen – A Visit to Bruhaus

Sadly, I didn’t come up with that title on my own. I had to use a German translator. Two years of German in college and I can’t even put together a simple phrase. Sheesh. But enough about my lack of language skills.

So, the other night I attended a blogger meetup called Bloggywood at a happening spot in Los Angeles called Bruhaus. Though I spent most of the evening chatting it up and meeting my internet peers I didn’t forget you guys. I scoped out the spot, tasted the grub, and snapped a few pics so that I could give you the lowdown.

Bruhaus is a modern pub with a great bar and a delicious menu of German inspired eats. Since I’ve got Bavarian blood coursing through these veins you know I’m all over that! Right now they’re in the process of debuting a happy hour menu (hooray!) so I was able to get a sneak peek. I came. I saw. I tasted. I did not take many pictures. So here’s a little sampling of my favorites.

From the top! You may think that’s orange chicken but no…it’s cauliflower. Yup! And it was deeeelicious. Then we’ve got a tasty selection of sausage. Always a good thing. And finally, a twist on the good old pb and j. Switch out the peanuts with almonds, add a little jam, slather both on sweet, brown bread, top with powdered sugar and enjoy! Mmm, mmm, mmm.

full disclosure: I attended a blogger event and the food items were complimentary. All opinions are my own. You know I’m a happy hour fool.
