Torta-rrific! Enjoying a Torta at Cancun Juice

Don’t worry, I’m not speaking in tongues. I’m only expressing my delight with the Torta sandwich, specifically the one served at Cancun Juice. Now you may be wondering why they serve tortas at a juice bar, I know I was surprised when I first discovered it. I had assumed the place was going to be similar to Jamba Juice and was shocked at the extensive menu. A friend recommended the torta so I gave it a try. And boy, am I glad I did!

It’s humongoid! If I manage to eat an entire one, forget about dinner! I’m full until the next day. Let’s take a closer look.

Yummmmmm. That’s layers of beans, onion, tomato, lettuce, avocado cream, cheese and carne asada. Normally it would also include jalapenos and chipotle mayo, but I’m a lightweight. Along with carne asada, the torta comes in many varieties – milanesa (breaded beef), pierna (pork), pollo, jamon (ham), pavo (turkey), chorizo, cartinas, and on and on and on!

Now guess how much this ginormous sandwich will set you back. Nope, too high. Nope, lower. Ok, now you’re just messing with me. The grand total for this baby is $4.95. $4.95!!!! For a sandwich that can easily make up two full meals! Talk about a bargain.

So head on over to Cancun Juice and treat yourself to a hearty linner.
