Stuff This In Your Pie Hole
I love pie. Well, I love pretty much all desserts, but for the sake of today’s post, I’ll just stick to pie. There’s just something comforting about it. And of course it’s totally delicious!
Here in SoCal pie has been trying to become the new trend for a couple of years now. I don’t know if it’s quite succeeding (cupcakes seem to have a death grip on the population here) but new pie shops have been cropping up all over. And recently, I discovered a great one in the Arts District near Downtown LA.

The Pie Hole is a small shop located across the street from the insanely popular Wurstkuche. A few weeks ago on a Sunday my friends and I were looking for a place for dessert in the evening. Since most bakeries close around four we were pretty much SOL. Desperate I scrolled through the listings on Yelp and came upon The Pie Hole. Open til 10? Hooray!
We stopped in and I immediately introduced myself to the Mexican Chocolate Pie.
Cinnamony chocolate custard topped with homemade whipped cream in a cookie crust. YUM. I so enjoyed my pie that I’ve been back twice! Check out the plethora of pies my companions and I have had –
Blackberry |
Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Crostada |
Fresh Strawberry |
Apple Caramel with Vanilla Ice Cream |
Chicken Pot Pie |
As you can see from that last shot they also have a selection of savory pies. I’ve only tried the chicken but it was delicious! Better than homemade. Really.
The Pie Hole is a perfect place for a quick lunch, an afternoon snack, a late night treat or pretty much any occasion. Try it.
