All About Ready.Set.Grow.LA!
As you know I have a younger sister who is often my partner in crime when it comes to my LA explorations. What you may not know is that we are several years apart in age. When she was a little kid I was already in high school. Once I got my driver’s license we had the opportunity to go on many adventures. I would take her all over SoCal hitting up children’s museums, zoos, festivals, and many other fun things. We had an amazing time together and both developed a love a of arts and culture. And in one month’s time my little sister will be a college graduate with a degree in English. You cannot imagine how happy that sentence makes me feel.
So when I heard about Ready.Set.Grow. LA! I knew it was something I had to share with you because it’s a campaign that encourages families to do just what my sister and I did because It recognizes that the first five years of a child’s life are important so that parents can “raise their children to be healthy, safe and ready to learn.” Gotta love that.
Recently Ready.Set.Grow.LA! launched a new initiative called Quality Child Care. As we all know, many parents work and need to find childcare for their little ones. The new Quality Child Care program aims to help them find the best option for their children – whether it’s a day care, a school, or even a relative. If a young child can get the right start and is exposed to quality care it will make a difference in their future.
On the Ready.Set.Grow.LA! website parents can find lots of resources to help them in their search. My favorite is the 5 Steps to Choosing Quality Child Care. I’m not a parent but I can only imagine how overwhelming the search for good child care can be. The 5 steps will definitely make it easier for parents in this difficult decision as there is information on everything from the various options of child care to the importance of monitoring that care to ensure your child has access to everything he or she needs to make a successful transition into adulthood.
This is an excellent resource for parents of young children. You can find out more by visiting Ready.Set.Grow.LA! and clicking on the Quality Child Care box on the home page.
And now for the fun part. Ready.Set.Grow.LA! has provided a learning materials gift basket to celebrate the importance of quality care. In it you’ll find this fun items:
Good luck!
