Beautiful Beasties and Bailey

Hi All! Did ya miss me? I know it’s been awhile since I’ve guest posted but the weather here has just been miserable and with this fur coat hiking trails were no bueno. Also, I’ve had a bad case of the allergies and have been laying low, taking my medicine and recuperating.

But, during my convalescence Melanie has been busy reading up a storm. One book that she just finished is called Beautiful Beasties: A Creative Guide to Modern Pet Photography. She figured that since I accompany her on her adventures and sometimes fill in for her here on the blog that I deserved to look good. I mean, really, how many times can we use the above photo? I’m sure you all are as sick of it as I am.

So Melanie tells me that Beautiful Beasties taught her everything she needed to know about pet photography. From the proper equipment to use, to the best locations, to the right camera settings, to composition, to how to handle the clients (I’m sure they’re talking about cats with that one) – everything she need to know was in the book.

She was so inspired by what she read that soon we were all set up for a photo op. Now, I’m no model but I must say I look pretty good. What do you think?

Ok. Maybe that bottom one’s a little blurry but I still look cute, right?
