Boy Oh Boy Oh Banh Mi – Visiting Banh Mi My Tho
Don’t you just love it when you have a nice, filling lunch and it costs you less than $5 bucks? I know I do. And that’s just what I had the other day at one of my favorite sandwich spots – Banh Mi My Tho in Alhambra.
Have you ever had a Banh Mi? If not, you’re missing out! It’s a Vietnamese sandwich that consists of a meat and veggies (usually carrot, daikon, cilantro, and jalapeno) on a baguette. Mmm, mmm, mmm.
At Banh Mi My Tho they do it extra special. My go to meat is the charbroiled pork. The sandwich has lots of pork, lots of pickled carrots and daikon, plus cilantro, jalapenos, and peanuts. SO GOOD! And the sandwich is huge! That picture above is not even half of it.
There’s half. Pretty huge, right? And guess how much this baby set me back. $2.79. $2.79! How do they do it? To tell you the truth, I don’t even care. The fact is they just do and that makes me happy.
Mmmm….so happy.
