Breaking Bread With La Brea Bakery
La Brea Bakery has been a Los Angeles institution for over 25 years. I’d long enjoyed buying their fresh bread at my local market but hadn’t visited the flagship location in years. In fact, it underwent a remodel last year and I hadn’t even see it. Until last week. Currently, La Brea Bakery is in the midst of their coast to coast Breaking Bread Tour and I was invited to the launch party.
On the tour the La Brea Bakery truck is crossing the country stopping in various cities to provide samples of breads and treats. Right now it’s headed to San Francisco and Seattle and will eventually hit the East Coast.
While the truck is away us locals will need to be satisfied with the La Brea Ave. and Downtown Disney locations.
Excuse me while I cope by digging into this loaf of Pain Au Levain.
Seriously, the La Brea location is lovely. It’s so big! I remember its small, cramped original location. Now it’s open and airy and filled with displays and displays of delicious items.
I was lucky enough to try a sampling of treats and even enjoyed a specialty cocktail – the Marble Rye.
So many different things to try. So much deliciousness. Mm. Mm. Mm. Oh, how I love bread.
I love La Brea Bakery breads and often by them at the market! How cool that there was a roving tour. Did it come to orange county? I probably missed it – doh!
They’re so good! The truck was only in LA so you didn’t miss out:)
