Brunch Time at OPM Restaurant
Mmm…brunch. What’s not to love about a meal the combines the best of breakfast and lunch? It’s signature drink is the mimosa for crying out loud! This past weekend I was invited to try out the brand new brunch at OPM Restaurant in Huntington Beach. Quicker than you can say “champagne” I headed on over.
OPM is a posh addition to the increasingly popular OC dining scene. Most days the restaurant is only open for dinner service and with an in house DJ it has a decidedly club like atmosphere. On Sundays things are a little different. The DJ remains but the atmosphere is more communal. Instead of dancing the night away it’s time to sit down and FEAST.
Yes, my friends, that is a tower of seafood. Oysters, shooters, shrimp cocktail, crab legs…and it’s only the starter. This dish costs a pretty penny but is full of amazing fresh, delicious seafood. I had to stop myself from downing countless oysters so I could save room for the rest of the meal.
While on the subject of indulgence there’s also a Bloody Mary bar. Confession time. Until this brunch I’d never had a Bloody Mary. But in the spirit of adventure I decided to give it a whirl.
Well…I think I’ll stick to the mimosa. But if you love Bloody Mary’s you’ll love this. And, yes, that’s a garnish of grilled cheese, corn dog and candied bacon.
OPM offers quite the list of entrees and it was hard to decide. Luckily, I was with friends and we managed to share a few dishes.
Crunchy french toast, charcuterie, pork chilaquiles, and a Hello Kitty pancake. Every dish was absolutely delicious. Equally delicious was the OPM 75 – a nod to the French 75.
Yes, that is an edible orchid in the drink. I didn’t end up eating it but I made sure to finish the drink!
In addition to the starters and entrees OPM offers a few brunch desserts. I had the green tea tiramisu and it was delicious. I’m a big fan of green tea desserts and this one ranks up towards the top. Plus – Pocky Sticks!
Having brunch at OPM is quite the experience. Our meal lasted over 3 hours! What better way to spend a Sunday?
