Dining at Mundaka and Beach House
One of the best parts of traveling is getting to try local dining spots. No chain restaurants for me! When I travel I want eat someplace I can’t back home. Luckily, I was provided with complimentary dinners at two lovely spots on the Monterey Peninsula.
Mundaka is a Spanish style tapas restaurant located in the heart of Carmel-by-the-Sea. It was within walking distance from our hotel and was a delightfully, unique spot to spend an evening. The fun thing about tapas is that it’s perfect for sharing. My sister and I ordered a variety of dishes and had fun sampling all the delicious flavors.
Mundaka was our first stop when we got to Carmel and it was a great way to start the trip. The food was great and everyone at the restaurant was super friendly. Good food, great service…what more could we ask for?
The next evening we took a short drive to the nearby town of Pacific Grove for dinner at the Beach House. The Beach House overlooks the water at Lover’s Point – a picturesque spot. We arrived just before sunset and were treated to an amazing view while we dined.
The restaurant is located in a historic structure that was formerly a bathhouse at the turn of the last century. It has been lovingly restored and there are historic photos located throughout. The service is wonderful and the cuisine is up to date. We enjoyed a variety of dishes for our meal.
Between Mundaka and Beach House we were provided with a variety of meal options for our trip. So much better than stopping at a familiar chain!
