Enjoying Cilantro Lime Sea Bass at Rubio’s
When I was a kid I didn’t like seafood. Fish, shrimp, sushi…yuck. As an adult my tastes have pulled a 180 and I love it. Recently, Rubio’s added a Cilantro Lime Sea Bass to their menu and asked if I’d like to try it. Would I? Does a bear like honey?
I must admit it had been some time since I visited a Rubio’s so I was pretty excited to stop by and sample the cuisine. On my first visit I went for the Cilantro Lime Taco Meal – 2 tacos, chips, beans and a drink.
I was happy to find nice big flakes of fish in the tacos.
In addition there was cabbage, salsa fresca, citrus sauce and a creamy chipotle sauce. The tacos were generously portioned and it made for a filling meal. I loved the fish and the citrus flavor but there was a bit too much creamy chipotle sauce for my taste. Next time, I think I’ll ask for it on the side.
A few days later I returned and tried the Cilantro Lime Sea Bass Bowl.
It contains citrus rice, black beans, romaine lettuce, guacamole, salsa fresca and, of course, sea bass. I dug in and instantly knew this was the dish for me. All the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. They blended together perfectly and it made for a light yet hearty meal. I loved it and am sure I’ll be back to enjoy it again.
OMG I am going to be trying this for Rubio’s, too! I absolutely love their fish tacos =D
