An Evening With Hendrick’s Gin
Every April I find myself at the Hollywood Roosevelt for the TCM Film Festival. The historic hotel is such a cool spot but somehow I never get back to it between fests. Until last week when I was invited back to the hotel to spend the evening with Hendrick’s Gin.
It’s no secret I love a good cocktail so I was super excited to be invited to join Hendrick’s for the unveiling of their Grand Garnisher. I grabbed my best bud, who’s also a cocktail aficionado, and we headed to Hollywood to get our drink on.
Hendrick’s is known for their whimsical approach to libation and the event did not disappoint. Before the big reveal we were treated to a cocktail hour filled with a plethora of wonderful concoctions.
I must say I’ve never before had a Negroni made by a mechanical contraption piloted by a gal in an aviator helmet and it was a delightful experience.
I also tried my first gin and tonic (I know, I know) and was able to garnish it with a range of botanical treats.
Soon enough it was time for the big reveal and The Grand Garnisher proved to be quite the contraption.
Powered by a fella on a penny farthing bicycle it can slice up to 18 cucumbers and hour and we were invited to step right up and add a fresh slice to our drinks.
it may not be efficient but it sure is fun!
Hendrick’s Gin hosted a wonderfully fun night filled with flavorful cocktails. I may not be able to use the Grand Garnisher at home but I’ll certainly be indulging in their gin again. No where can I get one of those Negroni machines?
What a great Hollywood experience.. Since I love Hendricks gin, I wish I were there.
Cheers & Happy Labor Day.
