A Frozen Fall Treat – Enjoying an Ice Cream Cone at Fosselman’s Ice Cream Company
Who says that ice cream is only a summer treat? I certainly don’t agree. I love ice cream any time of the year. Now, I know it helps that I live in SoCal where it’s sometimes 80 degrees on Christmas but I don’t think that should matter. When I lived in Indiana I would eat ice cream in a snowstorm. Well, technically I would be inside the nice warm house…I wouldn’t actually be standing outside in the snow…but the point’s the same! Ice cream is a good snack all year round!
So, last Saturday when it was drizzly and cool I made my way to Fosselman’s, a most delicious ice cream shop in Alhambra. Fosselman’s Ice Cream Company has been in business since 1919. 1919! It’s almost 100 years old! And just like when they started the ice cream is still handmade and oh so delicious, if I may say so.
Since I don’t really live nearby, I made sure to treat myself with two scoops – Toasted Almond and Rocky Road.
See, I couldn’t even wait to take the picture before digging in. On the right is a single scoop of espresso enjoyed by one of my companions. Looks like she couldn’t wait either. And not to be outdone by my two scoops my other pal ordered this.
Espresso and Dark Chocolate in a hot fudge sundae. Oh man! Did I order the wrong things? Nah, I loved my two scoops. And there’s something about a cake cone…I don’t know what it is…but it just makes the ice cream taste that much better. Mmm…delicious.
The prices aren’t too bad either
and if the flavors we chose don’t excite you there are about 40 more to pick from.
