Having Coffee at Handsome Coffee Roasters
It’s no secret that the arts district is one of my favorite places to hang out in Los Angeles. There’s great food and drink and interesting architecture abounds. It seems every time I’m there I discover a new place and recently I discovered Handsome Coffee Roasters.
Handsome Coffee Roasters is located on the southern end of the arts district near the beautiful Biscuit Lofts. It’s a place wholly devoted to coffee in it’s purest form as evidenced by it’s menu.
Yup, those are your only options. And don’t even look for sweeteners or spices on the condiment bar…they won’t be there. Now ordinarily this would bug the heck out of me. But…I like Handsome Coffee Roasters.
Maybe because they roast the coffee on the premises and have a large option of take home options (for a review of their coffee beans check out this post by the lovely Valerie of Sweeps4Bloggers).
Maybe it’s because the baristas have a true passion for the product and are super friendly to boot (even the guy who’s looking at the camera like I’m nuts).
Or maybe it’s because the coffee is really quite good. I’m not much of a straight espresso and milk gal but I did really enjoy this one. Of course, it may have helped that I was headed to the Pie Hole afterwards and I doctored it up with sugar and cinnamon when I got there. But, still, the coffee was good. Damn good.
