Having Fun at the Hollywood Wax Museum
Being a SoCal native I’m constantly trying to find unique things to do, things that are off the beaten path that tourists never know about. But sometimes it’s fun to embrace the obvious and check out the local tourist attractions. So recently I grabbed one of my best pals and headed to the Hollywood Wax Museum in the heart of Tinseltown.
The Hollywood Wax Museum has been located in the heart of Hollywood since 1965. I had no idea it was such an established part of the landscape. Sure, I’d passed by it for years but I figured it was one of those here today gone tomorrow type places. Little did I know how much of a Hollywood landmark it is.
I also wasn’t sure what to expect inside. You know I’m a classic film nut. Would I find my favorite stars of yesteryear or would it be a bunch of new whippersnappers?
The answer is both. There’s plenty of classic stars and there’s also a lot of new stars like Messrs. Depp and Bloom.
As you can see the sets are pretty elaborate with most stars displayed in scenes from their famous films. Here’s a few of my favorites. Remember, I love the old stuff.
They really look like the stars! It was fun to step back into the past and pretend I was visiting the museum when it opened. I imagine I would have seen most of these same statues. But I’m not completely stuck in the past. I love new movies, too. And one of the funnest parts of the museum is that you’re encouraged to step into the scenes and pose with your favorite stars. I couldn’t help but join two comedy giants in this scene.
Looks like I really fit in, doesn’t it? So next time your looking for things to do in Hollywood, check out the Hollywood Wax Museum. It’s a lot of fun.
