Enjoying Carmela’s Marinara Dolce

So in my recent post about Expo West I mentioned that I was going to have some great products to share with you. I’m so excited about this first one not only because it is absolutely delicious but also because it’s a home grown brand!

Carmela’s Food Company is based out of Los Angeles and produces one amazing product – Carmela’s Marinara Dolce.

This pasta sauce is based Nana Carmela’s family recipe and it’s roots trace back to turn of the (20th) century New York. With heritage like that, how could it not be delicious?

When I tried it at Expo West I was amazed at how much it tasted like homemade pasta sauce. Seriously, I have never tried a jarred sauce like it. I was offered a jar to take home and cook and…well…it was an offer I couldn’t refuse.

I decided to grab some Strozzapreti and a bit of Italian sausage to round out the meal. I topped it with some fresh Parmesan and voila! A delicious, delicious dinner.
