A little bit of Cuba – Having a Delicious Meal at Porto’s Bakery
Luckily, the folks behind Porto’s Bakery have been more successful than the Ricardo’s and Mertze’s. In fact, if I had one word to describe Porto’s, it would be phenomenon. First off, it is ginormous. Not just by bakery standards, but by any standards. Inside are several counters serving everything from entrees to drinks to pastries. Second, it is ALWAYS busy – usually line out the door crowded. But, believe me, no matter how long the wait, it’s worth it. But what about a bargain, you say? Ok, check this out.
That my friends is a Cubano sandwich. Roasted Pork, Ham (yes, both), cheese, pickles and a whole lot of goodness. And on the side? Some delicious roasted plantain chips. How much is this gonna set you back, you say? Well, today is your lucky day, for this filling meal is available for the low, low price of $4.85. Not bad, huh?
Now, if this sandwich doesn’t appeal to you, Porto’s has a large selection with an average price of 5 smackers. So check em out, and just try to avoid this:
Actually, don’t. It’s delicious, and you can afford it after your cheap lunch:) Have a slice of cuban cake for me, will ya?
Porto’s Bakery has three convenient locations in Glendale, Burbank, and (my hangout) Downey.
Now, the bakery is something that I will need to definitely check out. Yum!
