The StoryCorps Mobile Booth Comes to Los Angeles
About 2 years ago (I can’t believe it’s been that long) I wrote about one of my favorite organizations, StoryCorps. This organization aims to preserve the oral history of the US through interviews. These interviews are available to anyone. Simply schedule a session at one of their booths and share your story.
There are three permanent recording booths in New York, Atlanta and San Francisco. But what about us here in LA? How do we record our story? Luckily, there’s a StoryCorps mobile booth that travels the country and right now it’s parked in the heart of LA at Exposition Park.
It’s actually parked next to the California African American Museum, a pretty awesome place in it’s own right.
Recently, I was able to attend a StoryCorps press event and was able to tour the inside of the booth.
Isn’t that such great environment for an interview? Makes me want to sit down and tell my story. If you want to tell your story or hear the story of someone close to you, be sure to schedule an appointment. The mobile booth will be parked in LA until November 16.
