Now Boarding at the Museum of Flying
I just have to say that right now Los Angeles is KILLING IT with museum exhibits. Seriously, it’s a good time to visit them!
I’ve been making the rounds and recently I visited the Museum of Flying in Santa Monica to check out their new exhibit Now Boarding: Fentress Airports + the Architecture of Flight.
I had previously visited Santa Monica Airport but had never been to the Museum of Flying so I was super excited to check it out. Before I entered the door I new it was a winner.
These were but two of the several planes on display outside. Awesome.
The museum itself is a cavernous space filled with lots of exhibits on the history of aviation. There were tons of cool artifacts on display and several of the exhibits were interactive which is a huge plus for kids and…me.
At least, I hope that display was interactive. You don’t see a “do not touch” sign, do you?
Moving on…here’s some of my favorite things:
Fun, right? And this doesn’t even include the traveling exhibit that I was there to see!
Now Boarding: Fentress Airports + The Architecture of Flight is all about the amazing airports that Fentress Architects have been designing around the globe. Like Denver International Airport, Incheon in Seoul, Korea and LAX. What???? Yup Fentress is the firm behind the new expansion.
Pretty snazzy, huh? Tom Bradley ain’t gonna know what hit it!
It was great seeing the designs behind these innovative airports and I’m excited to check out the finished product at LAX. If it’s half as cool as what I saw at the museum it’s going to be pretty awesome!
Now Boarding: Fentress Airports + The Architecture of Flight is on display through August 25th, 2013.
