Now Introducing…
Me!
Recently I was nominated by the lovely Michelle from Tres Michelle for a Liebster Award. She came up with a few questions so I thought I would answer them and give you a little peek into my life.
1. What is your dream job?
Hmmmm…probably a film historian. Then I could be one of those talking heads in a documentary.
2.Which Olympic sport would you like to compete in if you could?
Definitely rowing. Every time I watch the Olympics I start to think “if I started training now…what competition could I still qualify for?” Seeing as I’m not athletic I think my only option is curling.
3. What does your dream house look like?
A craftsman bungalow, completely restored.
4. What food would you not want to live without?
bbq ribs. I’ve loved them ever since I was a kid. And I’m still just as messy when I eat them.
5. What skill do you wish you had?
I wish I could sing and dance. Unfortunately I have a terrible voice and I’m completely uncoordinated.
6. What is your favorite city you’ve ever been to?
NYC baby!
7. If you could go back in time, what decade would you go to?
1940’s for sure. I’m a sucker for the past and have been told more than once that I was born in the wrong decade.
8. Water ski or snow ski?
No ski. I’ve never tried water skiing and I’ve only snow skied once with disastrous results. The only time I made it down the bunny slope was when I walked down to assist a friend who had fallen.
9. If you could get a free pedicure or massage every week for the rest of your life, which would you choose?
Fun fact, I’ve never had either. I’m not a girly girl and have never indulged in any spa activities.
10. Favorite childhood tv show?
It pains me to say this but it’s Full House. I LOVED that show. Especially Stephanie, I thought she was so funny. Here’s another fun fact. when I was a barista I once served her her coffee. She was very nice and I think it was before her descent into Meth. Also, I once assisted Kimmy Gibbler with her bridal registry and she was not so nice.
11. What is your dream car?
A classic car. Don’t care what make or model, it just has to be from the 40’s or 50’s. I told you I was born in the wrong decade.
Ok, now I have to tell you 11 more things about myself. Here goes.
1. My go to drink is a Cape Cod. I love me some vodka, cranberry and lime.
2. I have a brown thumb. Really. I once killed a cactus.
3. The man of my dreams – Jason Segel. The puppet thing doesn’t bother me. I think it’s cute.
4. I love Barbies. Not like crazy love them. But they were my favorite toys when I was a kid (I still have them) and occasionally I’ll buy a special edition one.
5. I am a SoCal native but spent three years in Northern Indiana when I was in junior high. If I ever stop being a fan of The Fighting Irish my family will disown me.
6. The last time I was in Europe I was three years old. I’m hoping to change that.
7. I am a huge fan of Judy Garland. When I was little I wanted to be just like her (the singing and dancing, not the addiction). Now I just admire her amazing talent.
8. I’ve been to Disneyland more times than I can count. Growing up in Orange County it was practically required. Oh, and my grandpa was part of the original construction crew – he helped paint the castle. And my mom worked there. And I’ve been to First Aid there. When I was six I was boarding the Mark Twain and my foot slipped between the boat and the dock. I was fine, I think they just didn’t want me to sue them.
9. I hate many American “classic” foods – fried chicken, doughnuts, mayonnaise, hot dogs – eeeyuck. But I do like hamburgers, apple pie, and bbq.
10. I love cats but my only pet is a dog. I don’t mind cuz Bailey is the best.
11. I love factory tours. I love seeing how things are made and then getting free samples. When I was in Hawaii I went to Mauna Loa, Sacramento – Jelly Belly, Vegas – Ethel M. Chocolates. My ultimate goal is to visit Hershey and Crayola.
