Original New York Seltzer is Back
When my friends and I get together we often start a round of “remember when?” Whether it’s food, cartoons or roadside attractions we enjoy taking trips down memory lane. Every once in awhile we luck out when one of our favorites returns. Or should I say “luck” out. The Smurfs, Alvin and the Chipmunks? Maybe they should have stayed in the past. But Original New York Seltzer? It’s back and it’s just as good as we remember.
Recently, I was sent a free variety pack to sample along with a fun pack of 80’s accessories (snap bracelets, anyone?). There are now 6 available flavors – Black Cherry, Root Beer, Vanilla Cream, Lemon & Lime, Peach and Raspberry. Without thinking I immediately placed the bottles in the fridge. Whoops! Before I knew it, I was down to three remaining flavors and I hadn’t even taken any pictures!
Luckily, I was able to sample some and it was like a blast to the past. If you’re worried about any changes to the flavoring have no fear. It’s the same far out flavor. And like back in the day there are no artificial colors – each soda is crystal clear. There are also no artificial flavors, preservatives or corn syrup. That’s right, no corn syrup. Just good old cane sugar.
If pressed to choose a favorite, I’d have to go with Raspberry. It’s quite delicious and unlike most sodas that are out there.
So next time you’re at the the market and you see Original New York Seltzer on the shelves, don’t think you’ve traveled back in time. It’s back on shelves and hopefully here to stay.
