Spotlight on Jolly Llama
full disclosure: I was given coupons for free boxes (aprox. $15 value) to help with this post. I was already a fan so you know all opinions are my own.
You know I love to explore LA (and all of SoCal for that matter!). In my journeys around the area I’m always excited when I discover local brands like the amazing Carmela’s. So, today I’m super happy to shine a spotlight on another great brand based out of Santa Monica – Jolly Llama.
Jolly Llama is the manufacturer of delicious sorbet pops that I pick up at my local Sprouts and they’ve got a fun history that I’m going to tell you a bit about. The founder, Scott Jacobson, was a chef at Terra restaurant in Napa Valley (ooh la la!). Each day he made a different sorbet for the patrons. While doing this he started to think that these delicious flavors should be available to the masses and the idea for Jolly Llama was born.
For that, I am super happy because Jolly Llama sorbet pops are so yummy. So far I’ve tried raspberry, banana coconut, and strawberry. Raspberry is my absolute favorite – it has such a fresh raspberry flavor and it’s the perfect summer treat.
Banana coconut is also quite good. It has a unique flavor that you don’t often find in the supermarket. I have no idea why because it’s totally tasty. Strawberry is also good but a little too sweet for me. But I am a person who likes my fruit on the tart side.
And I just love those containers. They’re super cute, mess free, and are a perfect portion size. And they’re 100 calories or less. Add that they’re gluten free, dairy free, and non-GMO and they become the perfect summer treat for anyone.
Even Bailey.
You can find Jolly Llama at Whole Foods, Sprouts, and a whole lot of other stores.
