Spotlight on RW Garcia

Since this week’s road trip posts are all about Northern CaliforniaI thought I’d shine the spotlight on a San Jose based brand, RW Garcia.

RW Garcia has been in business for over 30 years and makes a variety of all-natural, Non-GMO, gluten-free corn-based snacks. Recently, I was provided with a sampling of chips to try out and found some new favorite snacks.

The newest ones to the market are the Tortatos, a combination red potato and white corn chip. They come in four flavors – Original, Barbeque, Salt & Pepper and Salt & Vinegar.

Potato and corn together in a chip – genius! Not only are they tasty but they’ve got a great crunch without the grease of a potato chip. The original is perfect for dipping and the others are great on their own. Especially the barbeque…so, so good. Before I knew it I had eaten the entire bag!

Although Tortatos are their latest line RW Garcia also offers other varieties like Dippers (in the top picture) and the MixtBag. The MixtBag combines a variety of tortilla chips in one bag. I took a bag of the Yellow & Blue Tortilla Chips to a friend’s house for cocktail hour. It was the perfect accompaniment to our spread of dips.
