Telling LA Debuts on KCET
Los Angeles is such a large, diverse community and I’ve always been fascinated by the stories of its inhabitants. Apparently, I’m not the only one because tomorrow marks the debut of a new special on KCET that tells the stories of a diverse group of Angelenos called Telling LA.
Telling LA is produced and hosted by Dudley Saunders and features live storytelling centered around a specific theme – The Search For Home. In the 1 hour special we meet a group of 4 local residents, Antonio Sacre, Trini Rodriguez, Barbara H. Clark and Máire Clerkin, who come from four widely different backgrounds yet all have found a sense of home in LA.
I was lucky enough to preview the episode and I found it quite moving. The four storytellers are compelling speakers and offer an array of insights into what it means to call Los Angeles home. Their stories, at times hilarious and at other times heartbreaking, are beautiful depictions of their love of family, community and home and make for perfect viewing during this holiday season.
Telling LA debuts Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at 10pm on KCET and will be repeated on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at 8pm. it will also be available online here.
