Cochon 555 Comes to LA
If you know me you know I love a good food event. What’s better than an afternoon enjoying small bites and tasty cocktails? It’s like going to a bunch of fancy restaurants all at once! Needless to say, I’m very excited to head to Cochon 555 next week in Santa Monica.
Cochon 555 is a culinary tour that travels the country educating folks about heritage breed pigs. At each event there’s a nose to tale culinary competition where top chefs compete to present the best bites using the whole pig. In addition there’s a Somm Smackdown where top sommeliers compete to provide the best wine pairings for the dishes. All of this is for a good cause with the proceeds going to Piggy Bank, a sanctuary for heritage breeds aimed at assisting small farms in raising these special animals.
On Sunday March 11 Cochon 555 comes to the Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica and is sure to please any culinary aficionado. There will be chefs representing such notable restaurants as Preux & Proper, Otium and Mason in the culinary competition. Not only will you get to sample their dishes but there will be tons of additional food samples. Not only will you be able to try plenty of pork dishes but there will also be a butter and cheese bar. Then there are the drinks. Wine, craft beer, bourbon, rum…whatever you fancy it will probably be there.
The show stars at 5pm and tickets are $130 each. if you want the VIP experience complete with early admission and exclusive cocktails and wine admission is $200.Tickets are available here. I’m so looking forward to next week and can’t wait for my first experience with Cochon 555.
