Coming Soon – The ASID Pasadena Home Tour
Many years ago I decided to take my aunt on a home tour of the Floral Park neighborhood in Santa Ana. I had never been on one before and wasn’t sure I’d really like it but it was her birthday gift and I figured spending an afternoon with her was worth it. Well, a few stops in I was totally sold and I’ve been hooked on home tours ever since. Recently, I was invited to preview the stops on the upcoming ASID Pasadena Home Tour and I readily agreed to check them out.
The Pasadena chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) will be holding their annual home tour on Sunday October, 7. On this self-guided tour three distinct homes will be on view as well as a pop-op featuring local shops, food trucks and free design consults.
Last week I had the chance to visit the homes which have each been designed by a member of ASID Pasadena and each one is beautiful in its own unique way.
The 1939 Merrill W. Baird estate is a grand 10,000-sf Southern Colonial nested along the lower arroyo. For the past 14 years designer, Christine Santana, has worked with the owners to design a chic living space customized to the family’s every need. The result is a unique space filled with sumptuous design features.
The 1925 Paul R. Williams estate is a 3600-sf Monterey Colonial owned and designed by Jennifer Bevan. When Ms. Bevan purchased the home it had been untouched since 1987 and she worked hard to bring its original architectural features back. The result is a seamless blending of traditional and contemporary style and the backyard is a must see.
Its lush, multi-leveled setting features a pool, multiple seating areas and an outdoor dining table. I could be very, very happy here.
The 1968 Petrie Wilson estate is 4850-sf ranch-style home in South Pasadena. Designed by Rozalynn Woods it’s a modern masterpiece that firmly embraces its mid-century roots. Featuring vast open spaces, contemporary furnishings and floor to ceiling windows it’s a true stunner.
The ASID Pasadena Home Tour will be held on October 7 from 10am – 4pm. Tickets are $40 and proceeds benefit Friends of Foster Children. Tickets can be purchased in advance here.
