Eat More Chikin – A Visit Behind the Scenes at Chick-Fil-A

I’m not really into fast food. Except for two places – In-N-Out and Chick-Fil-A. Yummedy, yum, yum, yum!

So when one of my fellow bloggers told me about a free tour Chick-Fil-A was offering, I knew I had to sign up!

We visited the Buena Park franchise of the national chain and were given a tour by the owners. The first awesome thing I learned is that these tours are open to anyone. Anyone! When you visit the restaurant you can simply ask for a tour and they’ll be glad to take you on through. You even get a backstage pass!

And I love that their kitchen is open to visitors so you can see exactly what goes into your meal. I learned so much. For instance, all vegetables are prepped in store.

So when you order a salad or even a sandwich you can be assured that your veggies were sliced and diced right where you bought them.

And did you know Chick-Fil-A sells chocolate cookies that are baked right in store?

Don’t they look yummy? And they were. Frankly, I was shocked. I would never consider buying a cookie from a fast food place because I assume it’s pre packaged, hard as a rock, tasteless…you get the point. But this cookie was soft and moist and very chocolatey!

Now, the thing that impressed me most was that fresh chicken rules the roost (pun totally intended). No frozen, preformed patties here.

The fresh chicken breasts are prepared right in house – from egg wash to flour to secret seasonings to frying. Good to know, huh?

So rest assured when you go to Chick-Fil-A you’re getting the real deal. And if you’re in the Buena Park area be sure to stop by the La Palma location. The owners are lovely, the store is brand new and immaculate, and, of course, the food is delicious.

full disclosure: I went on a tour with fellow bloggers BUT this tour is available to any and all who ask for it. All opinions are my own.
