Enjoying Verdejo Wine
Man, moving is the pits. Just when you think you’re all settled something else comes up that requires your full attention. Ugh, ugh, ugh. But there’s a light at the end of the tunnel; I just know there is! In the meantime, thank God for wine.
Recently, I was sent a couple of Verdejo wines to try out and not a moment too soon as the moving was getting to me. So I took a break, headed over to my best buds’ house, and cracked open the bottles.
Since Verdejo wine hails from the Rueda region of Spain I brought along some Spanish meats and cheeses to accompany it. It was the perfect pick me up.
We first sampled the Trascampanas Verdejo 2012 which was quite palatable. It was smooth and mild with hints of citrus. Next up aws the Emina Rueda – a blend of Verdejo and Viura. This fragrant wine was very pleasant and more floral than the Trascampanas.
I’d be hard pressed to choose a favorite as they both were so enjoyable. My friends and I agreed that we’re now interested in further exploring the world of Verdejo Wine. I’m excited to discover all the Rueda region has to offer.
Yummy! I’ve really discovered the power of a glass of wine after a long work day! 🙂
You said it!
