Fall Desserts with Friends at Stacked

As you know, I recently completed an epic road trip around California. When traveling one of my favorite things to do is to collect local culinary treats for friends at home. It’s a ritual between me and my best buds. Each time one of us travels we pick up fun local things for the other and then get together to share stories of our journeys. After this last trip I couldn’t wait to get together with them and share my adventure. Luckily, I knew just the place – Stacked. It’s no secret I love the place and when we were invited to visit the Huntington Beach location and sample their newest seasonal desserts we couldn’t say no.

Despite all my visits to the restaurant my two pals had not yet been so we decided to go all out with drinks, dinner and then dessert.

I got there a bit early and sipped on a tasty Blackberry Mule while I waited. Made with fresh berries it was a refreshing treat. My friends had Peach Sangria and a Blood Orange Bellini and as we sampled each others drinks we all agreed they were top notch.

We then shared an app of chips and onion rings with a trio of dipping sauces including their unique and oh so tasty butternut squash aioli. For my entree I opted for the Garlic Chicken Sandwich which I previously wrote about. It was as delicious as I remembered. My friends opted for the Short Rib Sandwich and Ghost Pepper Burger and each gobbled them down.

Soon enough it was time for dessert and we managed to squeeze it in. Since it’s Fall Stacked debuted two limited edition desserts especially for the season – the Pumpkin Cheesecake Shake and Pumpkin Bread Pudding.

Now, I’m not a big cheesecake fan so I took a quick sip and let my friends enjoy the rest. They found it to be quite tasty with a strong pumpkin flavor and just a hint of cheesecake. They both agreed that it was very sweet and between the two couldn’t finish it. As for the bread pudding…YUM. I’m already a fan of Stacked’s bread pudding and adding pumpkin made it that much better. We opted to top it with whipped cream and a bit of caramel sauce and all agreed it was delicious.

After the meal both my friends agreed they were happy I introduced them to Stacked and were already planning their next visit (to try the restaurant’s breakfast menu). As for me, its status as one of my go to spots is firmly in place.
