Fall Flavors at Border Grill
Oh, Fall. I love you so much. You may be hiding here in Southern California but I still love you.
Even though the weather doesn’t support it I still can celebrate fall through the food and decor of the season. And that’s just what I did at the Fall Showcase at the Border Grill in Downtown LA. I was invited to come by and try their flavors of the season.
Shouldn’t every meal start with a margarita?
And chips and salsa of course. Now I’m a chips and salsa nut. I’m one of those folks who eat so much of it that I’m full by the time the meal comes. The Border Grill’s did not disappoint. Hot, homemade chips with the perfect amount of salt complemented the trio of delicious salsas.
Appetizers were passed around and I managed to snag this beautiful oyster. I also tried a crispy plantain with a lentil topping that was out of this world. So good that I ate it before I was able to snap a pic.
Thanks to my chips and salsa indulgence I was soon ready for desert and, boy, it did not disappoint.
Pumpkin empanadas. PUMPKIN empanadas.
These flaky pastries filled with the squash and spices paired perfectly with hot chocolate. Not just any hot chocolate but a dark, rich concoction filled with all the spices of the season. One taste and I was filled with all the warmth and joy of my favorite time of year.
Hang the weather! Fall is here!
