How Happy Is Your Chicken? Welcoming the Happy Egg Co. + Giveaway!

So remember when I told you I was starting the Paleo diet? Yeah…well…um…let’s just say I’m taking a hiatus. I actually really like the diet but I’m so busy right now that I never seem to have the time to shop for the right ingredients let alone actually make the dishes. I know it’s a lame excuse but it’s all I’ve got right now. Anywho…

Even though I’ve fallen off the Paleo wagon I am still continuing my quest to eat healthy, whole foods. So when I learned of a brand new free range egg company coming to California I was super excited.  Then I met the folks behind The Happy Egg Co. and I was smitten!
The Happy Egg Co. is a successful UK brand that is now making it’s US debut. So what makes this brand so special? Well, it’s the way they treat their hens. They’re not caged, they’re not cage free – they’re free range. So what does that mean?

Well, caged hens lives their entire lives in a small square 8 1/2 inch cage. Cage free hens aren’t confined to the cage but are only given 8 1/2 x 14 inches to “roam” around and they never go outside. Free range hens are just that – free. They can stay in the barn or they can go outside; they’ve got room to roam and play. Check it out!

I want to have that much fun! And that’s exactly what the Happy Egg Co.’s mantra is – happy chickens lay tasty eggs. What’s good for the hen is good for the consumer. But, don’t take my word for it – try them yourself! And to help you get started I’m giving some away!

One lucky winner will get coupons for 2 FREE dozen eggs, a Happy Egg Co. pen, and a Freda Roam toy. Who’s Freda Roam you say? Allow me to introduce you.

Cute isn’t she?

Please note: At this time Happy Egg Co. eggs are only available in California. If you don’t live here still feel free to enter you just won’t be able to use the egg coupons. US only.
