Enjoying Korean BBQ at Yellow Cow

A few years ago I discovered Korean BBQ and was instantly smitten. Free appetizers galore, a grill pan in the middle of the table, and delicious food…how could I not be? But for some reason or another it’d been a long time since I’d last had it. So when Yellow Cow Korean BBQ invited me (and my right hand gal, Shannon) to come for meal on the house it was an offer I couldn’t refuse.

Look at that array of appetizers! There’s the requisite kimchi plus lots of other dishes that I could not name. There were crunchy, sweet dried peppers and spicy, sour cucumbers, and seaweed and nuts and beans and mashed potatoes and greens and…I could go on and on. An array of dishes I had never seen before in my life. Our waiter told us that the owner purchases many ingredients when she visits Korea so you know these dishes are truly authentic. And they are delicious. Incredibly, incredibly delicious.

Now the appetizers are my favorite part but I can’t forget the main course. Let’s bring on the meat!

That’s rib-eye, brisket, and shrimp. As you can see I was so excited that I started cooking before I realized I forgot to take a pic. So much meat! Somehow we managed to put it all away.

When it looks like this while cooking and smells even better we didn’t have much choice.

The meal was absolutely delicious. It definitely renewed my love of Korean BBQ and I know it won’t be long before I’m back. Maybe if I leave now I can beat the dinner rush!

I admit when ginger chews first starting appearing on store shelves I was a bit skeptical. Sure, I loved gingersnaps but ginger candy? Hmmm. Then I tried Chimes Ginger Chews and all doubt was erased. So what made me decide to try them? Really, it […]

Visiting the Hollywood Bowl Museum
