Spotlight on Real McCoy’s All Natural Snacks

Real McCoy's

A few weeks back I spent an entire weekend wandering the halls of the Anaheim Convention Center at Expo West. You may recall last year’s post about this natural foods convention. Well, this year it was even bigger! I wandered row after row sampling foods and seeking out local brands. I came across quite a few and am excited to share them with you in the coming weeks.

Today, I’ve got a great company to start off with – Real McCoy’s All Natural. This is a family owned snack brand based out of Madera, CA. The family has been in the snack food industry for generations. Through private labeling they’ve perfected the art of snack making and are now launching their own line of rice chips and rice puffs.

I was able to meet with them at Expo West and sample their fabulous products. I even got to take some bags home! Not only are they gluten free and non GMO but they’re super tasty, too.

The rice puffs come in three flavors – Hatch Chili, Baked Vermont White Cheddar and Jalapeno Cheddar. When I was a kid I loved Planters Cheez Balls and these have a similar texture. The only difference is that the artificial cheese powder has been replaced by delicious, honest to goodness, real cheese.

The rice chips also come in three flavors – Sea Salt, Worcestershire & Chive, and Sweet & Spicy. All three are super tasty but my favorite, hands down, is the Sweet & Spicy. A little savory…a little sweet…and just the right kick of spice. I’m a bit embarrassed to admit I ate the whole bag in one sitting. I couldn’t help it…they were that good!

I’m super excited that this California based company is now hitting the market. I can’t wait to grab me another bag!
