Strawberry Balsamic Chicken Salad Returns to The Habit
Lately the summer heat has been kicking in which means that I’ve been eating my fair share of ice cream. How could I not when the weather hovers around 100°? In order to offset this sweet treat I’ve been sticking to lighter meals. So when The Habit invited me to try the limited edition Strawberry Balsamic Chicken Salad I immediately agreed.
Now, when it comes to The Habit it’s hard for me to stray from the Charburger and onion rings but this salad makes it a bit easier. Mixed greens topped with fresh strawberries, dried blueberries, feta cheese and freshly grilled chicken and drizzled with a house-made strawberry balsamic vinaigrette makes for a tasty combo. The photo above is my actual salad and that slice of chicken was still warm from the grill. Mm, mm, mm. Some people don’t like fruit in their salad but I love it and the strawberries and blueberries provided a sweet accent to the dish. For such a light salad it was quite filling and I didn’t even have a side!
I’,m not a big soda fan so I love that I can have some delicious Strawberry Limeade when at The Habit. On this visit I headed over to grab one and was surprised to find a brand new drink right next to it.
Peach Ginger Nectar? Sounds good to me! I took a quick sample and instantly knew I’d found my new favorite. A delicious peach puree with hints of ginger, lime and basil it was a refreshing treat and the perfect accompaniment to my salad.
When dining to go it’s hard to find good, healthy options but the Strawberry Balsamic Salad delivers. As long as this heat holds up I’m sure I’ll be having a lot more of it.
