Summer Soda Tasting at Galco’s Soda Pop Stop

My love for Galco’s Soda Pop Stop is no secret. Several years ago I saw it featured on Huell Howser and became a regular patron. One time I even participated in a cash mob there!

Along with selling numerous sodas and beers from all over the country (and beyond!) Galco’s also annually holds a summer soda tasting. The latest one just so happens to be this Sunday July 18th from 5-8pm.

I had the pleasure of attending the soda tasting in the past and it’s a lot of fun. This year’s theme is Around the World in 80 Sips and will be featuring sodas from Italy, France, England and more. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door ($5 for children 5-11). All proceeds benefit the Friends of the Southwest Museum Coalition.  Are you familiar with the Southwest Museum? It just so happens to be the oldest museum on Los Angeles (founded in 1907) and has sadly been closed for the past few years. The coalition aims to reopen this important historical landmark. I was lucky enough to visit the museum before it’s closure and can attest it is very much worth saving.
