Tasting Partida Tequila
You know I love a good cocktail. So when the folks at Partida Tequila offered to send me a few samples I couldn’t resist.
Partida Tequila, based out of San Francisco, is grown near a dormant volcano in the Tequila Valley of Mexico. The agave is grown patiently and harvested after 7-10 years. Stainless steel ovens are used to bake the agave and the tequila is aged in Jack Daniels American Oak barrels. And, best of all, it’s all natural with no additives.
I took the tequila over to my friends’ house and we set to sampling. There were three varieties to try: Blanco, Reposado, and Anejo. Blanco had the purest flavor and went down smooth. Anejo was quite fragrant and had a unique, strong flavor. The Reposado was my absolute favorite – it had a lovely aromatic scent and tasted fantastic. In fact, my two friends also favored it.
Because we love our cocktails we decided to make one with Partida Reposado.
Fresh grapefruit juice and lime, a little selzer and Reposado made for a light and refreshing drink. Looks like I’ll be heading to Hi-Time to pick up another bottle!
In SoCal you can also find Partida Tequila at BevMo , various independent shops, and your favorite watering hole.
