This Weekend – EW PopFest and Now Hear This

I may frequently write about classic Hollywood but that doesn’t mean I’m stuck entirely in the past. I watch TV, go the movies and listen to podcasts like the best of them. So when I heard about two pop culture fests heading to the area I knew I had to go and this weekend I”m super excited to attend EW PopFest and Now Hear This.

Last Fall I heard about a Happy Endings reunion at the EW Fest in New York City and was super bummed I lived on the other side of the country. I was an avid watcher when it was on the air and it remains one of my favorite shows of all time (it was simply amahzing). Lucky for me the cast is reuniting once again at the EW PopFest held at the The Reef in Downtown LA. This time they’ll be holding a live table read of a brand new episode and I cannot wait.

In addition the the reunion I’m also excited about a performance by the cast of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, a show I’m currently binging, a sneak peak of the new Gilmore Girls episodes and a performance by the fantastic Janelle Monáe. I’m a huge podcast fan and listen to them throughout the day so I was super excited to discover the inaugural Now Hear This Podcast Festival would be taking place in Anaheim. For three days top podcasts like Comedy Bang! Bang! and WTF will be recording live at the fest. I’ve attended live podcasts in the past and they’re always a ton of fun. This weekend I’m super excited to catch Never Not Funny, Doug Loves Movies and How Did This Get Made? The festival runs Friday through Sunday and tickets are available here.

This weekend is sure to be a pop culture extravaganza and I can’t wait!
