Lazy Sunday – Vote Knope!

So I know I’ve been slacking this past week. Only one post, sheesh! Hopefully I’ll be back to normal soon although I still haven’t been exploring much. But no worries because I’ve decided to start a new feature called Lazy Sunday. As much as I love to explore I am also a big fan of the more sedentary activities in life. Reading, watching movies, watching TV, and the like.

Sundays are my lazy days. I sleep in, I relax, and I catch up on the books, movies and tv shows I love. So I thought that each Sunday I would share with you some of my favorite lazy day activities. So, here goes.

I have to admit that I’m super excited that the fall season has started and all my favorite shows have returned with new episodes. I’m a big comedy fan and love no show more than this one –

Parks and Recreation is the funniest show on TV now. It’s so hilarious, it’s got enormous heart, and it has an amazing cast of talented actors. Why it has low ratings is beyond me.
Leslie Knope is the only politician I have any respect for (pretty telling that she’s a fictional character). With her heart on her sleeve she forges full steam ahead to make her town the best possible place it can be. After every episode I always think “I wish Leslie Knope was a real person.” I know she could certainly whip my city into shape.

And Ron Swanson. Ron F-ing Swanson.

The man loves his meat, his scotch, and his freedom. A stronger character could not be found on TV.

When it comes to movies I feel like I’m one of the few remaining people who prefers to see them in a theater rather than my living room. I’ve been avoiding going to save money but recently I ponied up some cash to see two flicks.

The Master…well…um…hmmm….

Ok. The acting was superb. The imagery – beautiful. The soundtrack – haunting. The film – WTF? Seriously. It was so weird and creepy and disturbing…It’s the kind of movie critics adore. You know the one where if you say you didn’t like it they’ll look down at you. Well I didn’t like it. There. I said it.

Thank God for Sleepwalk With Me. Love this movie. Have you ever heard of Mike Birbiglia? If you haven’t, definitely check him out. He’s one of the most gifted comedians working today. His comedy is hilarious and often poignant. Why he is not better known is beyond me. (I seem to detect a theme here).

What Lazy Sunday activities have you been loving lately?
