Benefit and Beer, Goose Island Beer

This year is turning into they year of “finally getting around to doing things I’ve been meaning to do for a long time.” Hmm…that’s a bit long. I may need to work on that title. Anyway, whether it’s visiting the Steinbeck Center or having dinner at Club 33 I’m rapidly crossing of my must visit list. That’s it! I now dub thee the year of “must visits.” You’re welcome 2013.

One place I’d been wanting to visit forever was the Benefit Boutique. I’d fallen in love with the cosmetics when I first set eyes on their vintage inspired packaging. So when I was invited to an event at their Santa Monica store I made sure to clear my schedule.

First, a word about the beer. Goose Island is a Chicago based brand that is now available in California. To celebrate their entry into our market they served up lots of tastings of their wares.

Oh and chocolate. Beer and chocolate. Turns out be a pretty good combo.

My absolute favorite beer was Sofie. It tastes like a sparkling wine and is so, so yummy.

But back to Benefit. Did you know you can get your brows done at a Benefit Boutique? I usually go for threading because it’s pretty cheap and effective but I’ve been slacking lately. So I could not wait to get my brows done. They ended up looking awesome but the best part was that it didn’t hurt! First time my eyes never watered!

(Psst. Over here. If you go to the shop on your birthday you can get your brows done for free. But you didn’t hear it from me.)

I also got a makeover which was super fun because I don’t generally wear a lot of makeup. It was nice to fee very “ooh la la” for a while. I’d show you picks but the good gals at Goose Island never let our glass go empty so….my photos abruptly stopped after the ones above.
