Having a Grand Old Time at Dave and Buster’s

full disclosure: I and my guests were treated to free food, drink and game cards by Dave and Buster’s. All opinions are my own.

I have to admit that I’m constantly wrestling with my inner hipster. The one who thumbs her nose at pop music, action films, and chain restaurants. I’m thinking that’s why it’d been over a decade since I last set foot in a Dave and Buster’s. I was just too cool for school.

But recently, Dave and Buster’s approached me about visiting an area location and checking out their new food and games and I thought, “why not?” So I took a few family and friends and headed on over to the Orange location to check it out…and proceeded to have the funnest night out in a long time. It was such a great experience that I’m hoping I’ve destroyed my inner hipster once and for all. Life is so much better when you enjoy things for what they are and not for what you think they should or shouldn’t be.

But enough philosophizing, let’s get down to some food, drinks and games!

But wait, I’ve got to give a shoutout to Ralph Norwood, the general manager. He treated my group to such a great time that I’m still hearing about it from my guests. I would always visit the Orange location because of him.

Ok, now back to food, drinks, and games!

First we tried a bevvy of drinks.

 Then an armload of appetizers.

Then an abundance of entrees.

And then…dessert!

Thatsa alotta food! Highlights for me were the Coronarita (a yummy margarita with a cute mini Corona bottle in it!), the 5:15 ( that giant appetizer platter with the delicious chips and quesadillas on it), the Grilled Balsamic Chicken (light and tasty) and the Chocolate Fondue (oh the chocolate fondue!).

After our food and drinks we headed onto the midway to check out the games. This summer Dave and Buster’s has brought out some giant versions of super popular mobile games like Fruit Ninja and Cut the Rope.

I personally loved one called Harpoon Lagoon where you earn lots of tickets for catching fish.

I had so much fun that I know it won’t be another 10 year before I go back. It may not be another 10 days!

Dave and Buster’s has four area locations in Orange, Irvine, Arcadia, and Ontario.
