New Brews from Oggi’s Sports | Brewhouse | Pizza and Angel City Brewery

We’re at the midpoint of summer and I must say I’m enjoying it so far. Even though the lazy days of school vacation are far behind me I’ve still managed to enjoy the long days and warm weather. I’ve been to the mountains, spent time with family, learned about new design trends, updated this here blog and even started sailing. In the midst of it all I’ve also managed to indulge in some tasty food and drink, including the brand new brews from Oggi’s Sports | Brewhouse | Pizza and Angel City.

Recently, I arrived home to discover a surprise package on my doorstep. I opened it up and found a couple of bottles of the latest offering from Oggi’s – a coffee cream ale called The Daily Grind.

The Daily Grind is made with Guatamalan cold-brew coffee – a fact which made me super excited. I love a good cold brew and thought it would make an interesting companion to beer. It certainly did and I loved it.  It’s a light bodied ale that provides a nice hit of coffee flavor and is truly delicious.

The limited edition Daily Grid is available on tap at Southern California Oggi’s locations and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Lupus Foundation of Southern California.

A short time later I found myself in Downtown LA and made sure to stop by Angel City Brewery to preview their latest release – Sunbather.

Sunbather is a sour ale made with citrus hops. I happened to stop by on a particularly hot day and it was the perfect drink for a warm summer evening. Tart and smooth it’s incredibly refreshing and the perfect companion to a seasonal barbecue. Especially since it marks Angel City’s first foray into canned beer.

Yup, the limited edition Sunbather is the first canned beer offered from Angel City. I was given a few to take home and have been treating myself to a nice cold one on particularly warm summer nights. Soon Angel City’s famed Avocado Ale will be debuting in cans and I can’t wait to grab a couple to enjoy for the rest of the summer.
